Here's a beautiful song by Bon Iver accompanied by a beautiful video shot in Iceland by Nabil Elderkin. Another video that makes me love Iceland even more.
Iceland is currently number one on my wish list of countries I want to visit. I am fascinated by it and everytime someone I know visits it, I can't help feelng jealous. Here's a selection of photos by Catalin Marin, a Dubai based photographer who was there a few weeks ago. He was kind enough to agree I post some of his photos and video here to share the splendour of Iceland.
If this video doesn't want to make you pack and travel to Iceland, I don't know what will. Iceland has been number one on my list of places to visit and this proves why.
Volcanic eruptions and financial crisis or not, I don't care what people say about you Iceland, one day I will visit you and dance with joy like everyone in this video.
WARNING: There's some nudity that lasts for 5 seconds between minutes 1.13 and 1.18, so if you might be offended or sensitive to such scenes, please don't watch.
This is a gorgeous video by Sean Stiegemeier, with beautiful music by Jonsi. After all the cover we've seen on TV and in print, THIS is the only way to watch Eyjafjallajökull in action.
I have a soft spot for Iceland and can't wait to visit, so I'm very grateful for this video by Stiegemeier and the effort he put into making it.
"So I saw all of these mediocre pictures of that volcano in Iceland nobody can pronounce the name of, so I figured I should go and do better. But the flights to get over took forever as expected (somewhat). 4 days after leaving I finally made it, but the weather was terrible for another 4. Just before leaving it got pretty good for about a day and a half and this is what I managed to get. Sean Stiegemeier
The volcanic eruption in Iceland is a spectacular event and how I wish I had a closer view.
Yes, it has caused ash clouds, flight disruptions and no one has really been prepared for this, but it's also a reminder of how much we are not in control.
I've been loving all the photos available online and this video shows how Eyjafjallajökull is still angry. Hope she calms down soon. Oh, and in case you still can't pronounce this most unpronouncebale name, this is how you say it.
